Kazat Akmatov

Kazat Akmatov is a writer who was critical of the Soviet regime. His two main works, “The Night of the Divorce” the story of a corrupt member of the Communist party and the novel “Time” about the repression of the ethnic value in the 1930s, were both censured by the Soviets. In 1989 Akmatov, was among the founder of the Kyrgyzstan Democratic Movement.
