Kanafiya Telzhanov was a painter who left a significant mark in the world of arts in Kazakhstan. His works has been displayed in the collections of the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and the State Museum of Art named after A.Kasteev, as well as in private collections in Europe and Asia. The curriculum of Telzhanov is extensive: chairman of the board of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan, secretary and a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR , director of the State Museum of Art. Even in the academic world his achievements were impressive, he taught at Almaty State Theatre and Art Institute and in the Kazakh State Academy of Art. In 1967 he was awarded with the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR, and in 1981 he was awarded the title of professor.
